Joy has been a professional artist since childhood, first as a portrait painter, later as a graphic artist and designer. Growing up in Pacific Palisades, a beach community of Los Angeles, she earned a degree in fine art. After moving to northern California, she earned degrees in communications and business.Her paintings have sold to private collectors and commercial clients since 1972, and she is the founder of Décor-American. Currently, she is creating California Expressions … a series of abstract and representational paintings depicting the waters, weather, habitat and lifestyles of California … the Pacific coast, wine country and redwood forest. Burt is from Switzerland. He spent time in the U.S. during childhood and as a teen spent a year at Palisades High School as an AFS (American Field Service) exchange student. Burt returned to Switzerland, where he earned law and business degrees and pursued a career in communications and sponsoring. Through the years his interest in the arts flourished and he created bold abstract paintings and flowing, sensuous sculptures . . . directions his artwork still takes today.
